The biggests Journey's start with a single step!

Okay so I'm of to Florida in 6 hours for my dada's 50th Birthday. And I'm not going to lye I'm a little scared/ nervous/ excited. Well I don't think that I'm going to have internet so I'm going to update you lovely people at a later date! :)

Monday 5 September 2011

Rain rain go away!

Well the theme for this post is RAIN!!! Because there has been a lot since I last posted.

So we were getting ready for the wedding, and what a lovely affair it was, the bride (Heather) looked elegant and beautiful. The groom looked like the cat that got the cream, it was really really lovely! And I got to know Peters family. Picture time!

Then it was off to Hayling Island on the south coast! It was really good fun. Now can't quiet remember Monday all that well went along the lines of blind panic towards Keele and Modules!!

Now Tuesday however was amazing! And Peter was really really looking forward to it, we went to Portsmouth, to the historical dock. And just to illustrate it here are some pictures!

And on to Wednesday well Peter, Lizee, Linda and David went out on the boat, while Joey, Sam and myself went to the beach. But due to the wind we moved off of the beach and down into the next town, it was good. We caught the bus back to the slipway to meet up with the rest of the group. On the way back to the ever so muddy, ever to smelly slipway we saw 2 donkeys. They were gorgeous, I kind of want one now, hehe.

Thursday was a good day, and it was also the celebration of my Grandpops's birth! Now I'm not pointing fingers here but I was very scared that something bad had happened due to the fact that Nana and Grandpops weren't answering their phones, but it was okay in the end. So other than that we managed to get to the near by town of Emsworth, which was nice.

Friday this was pack-up day, which as the title suggests we packed up the camp site! We dropped off dear Sam off at the train station, well I didn't I was packing up the tent but. Anyway Tent and Stuff got packed in the brief break in the rain! And then we met up with Em and Chris at Havant Station, where we packed the boys into the back of Em's car! Then it was off to Greenbelt!!!

Quiet along drive! But a goodish one did feel a little ill, but never mind! Got the tent up no problems :) Then went and had a look at the site!

Okay so I've lost/ my mum lost my greenbelt diary so when that is found I'll update this post. But just to tide you over :

It has been found!! So Friday! After looking around the site we went to the Jesus Arms until a talk entitled 'Do angels have wings?' which did get a little boring so I left with a few people and walked around and looked at some shops! At that point I was so sleepy that I went back to the tent being accompanied by the wonderful Mr Peter Shuker, whom I love very much, hehehe.

Saturday morning came and I awoke after 12 and a half hours sleep! Then it was up and away to Main stage  to listen to Rob Bell, he was really good and made his message clear, be more like yourself never try and be anyone else!! Then it was a little bit more wandering with the wonderful people that I was with, all the while heading in the direction of the Performance Cafe! At 15.00 went to quiet a provocative talk, 'Dawkins, Hawkins & The Simpson', which really did get me thinking. More wandering followed (See a theme?)! Then it was to the Main Stage to watch the 'Gentleman's Dub Club' and then 'Get Cape Wear Cape Fly'! Sleep was a calling at this point so that's where I went!

Sunday :) Communion, which was good if not a little strange in points. Then it was to the Rising with Martyn Joseph, Duke Special, Luke Jackson and a lady whom I forgotten the name of, woops. Then it was to the Make & Take 'Sew for Sew Good' but after a few minutes Elle and myself left. And spent a long while chatting which was really really good. At 18:00 it was to the Performance Cafe, to listen to a little more Luke Jackson. Then I got told 'How to read the Bible' in Bethlehem. Over to main stage for a little Duke Special and Idlewild. Wandering for a bit until it was time for bed but everyone knows that you need to have a 'Bedtime Story' at Abide!

Monday a day of happiness and sadness, last day of greenbelt. Big Top for 'Lost in Translation' then it was to the Rising with the one and only Martyn Joseph, who had Iain Archer, Edwins Haynes and Sam Hill with him! Then to Jerusalem with John Bell followed very quickly followed by Iain Archer & then Kate Rusby. Then to the Performance Cafe, for Edwina Haynes. Then to the Jesus Arms for a little bit. After a few games of life, Then to bed!!

Saddest day Tuesday leaving day! Packed up really quickly then got taken home by Tom and Elle!

And that's it for Greenbelt, really really enjoyed myself. Hopefully go next year!

Paws over (for now)!

Saturday 20 August 2011

All along the back waters...

Well where to pick up???

Well I think that Sunday will be a good place. Sunday was mostly traveling and setting up the tent. That was about it.

Monday is next, surprisingly. We, David & Linda, Peter & myself, went out on the boat, we went out to the next village along on the river and had an ice cream which was lovely! We went a little further up the broads then turned back. We then went back to the campsite. Which was fun.

Tuesday, Lizee, Joey and Myself went to Norwich on the train. And Peter, David & Linda sailed round. We had so much fun and I got a really great diary, and for the second year Lizee and me have the same diary :) Good times. As we where on the way to the train station we went over a bridge and by perfect timing saw David, Linda and Peter in the boat.

Wednesday Peter, Lizee, Joey and myself went to Great Yarmouth on the train. We walked through the town to the sea front. It was so much fun, we made our way to the Pleasure Beach. We went on several rides, the first of which was a Mulan themed, then Lizee and Joey went on a ride called evolution which was really strange, and I'm glad that I didn't go on it. Then we walked to the end of the park and had a snack break, I had doughnuts. We then went on the Log Flume, which we waited for around 30 minutes but it was well worth it, picture will be uploaded later. Then it was to the Ghost house, were Joey and me share a car and Joey held my hand all the way around! It was so much fun, due to the fact that I went round making fun of the ride, hehe. Lizee went round after by herself. Peter sat that one out. The last ride was a pirate ship it was so much fun!!! We all went on the last one.We walked back to train station and then to home!

Thursday was Lizee's results day! And she did amazingly!! And she got into York! Which was her first choice. Well Done Lizee!!!! I slept most of that day, due to the fact that we woke up at 6.00 am so Lizee could get her results!! Peter and me stayed at the campsite while the rest of them went out on the boat. But most of the time I was asleep I don't know why I just did. The night before we ran out of gas so we had Fish and Chips for dinner, which were really yummy.

Friday was pack up day! And it went amazingly, I was packed and ready, and helped to pack up the big tent. Lizee and myself managed to take down the tent really really quickly and we had suck great team work it was great, Hehe. Then it was a traveling, We finally went on the Reeham Chain Ferry! We then went to Sutton Hoo which was good. They have changed the kings chamber, where as before you used to look down into the Chamber now you can walk through it, which is really cool. Then it was back on the road. Then it was to GoOutdoors where I got a lilo cover. Then it was to Tescos for food shopping, Peter, Lizee, Joey and Myself waited in the car. Then it was back to Chez Shuker, where the cousins where already there. So many names for me to remember, but they are lovely! It was all good until I checked my webmail and Emma had sent me an email saying that my modules where messed up, and I cried. Joyful times!

And now it is Saturday and we're getting ready for the Wedding!

Paws for thought over!

Sunday 14 August 2011

Murder is a tawdry little crime

Well this week has been amazing!!!

But first a little catch up Peter came up for the festival of history which was a great weekend, then is was Holiday Club, great fun. I think that we're all caught up.

It started last Saturday when I headed down to London to stay with the wonderful Miss Mia Bennet! The plan was from me to do all of her house work while she was at work but it didn't really work out like that. On the Sunday I said goodbye to Mum and Dad before we headed to the theater to finish as much as we could of the set for the production of Assassins!
It was amazing Mia throw me in at the deep when she told me that I would be helping her/ the show out by being a follow spot! There's a first time properly using something for the first time! Tech rehearsal went as well as we could have hoped. Busy day!

So on the Monday I spent the whole day Cutting, Painting, Gaffing, Elections tying, lets put it this way it was a busy day! The dress rehearsal went swimmingly which did scare a few people!

So everything should have been finished by Tuesday, Opening Day, but as is the way with things it was not, Matt and myself spent the whole day finishing off the set and ensuring that everything was as good as it could be. And we finished off the last little bit about an hour before curtain up, well maybe within the hour that it did  start, hehe. The first show went well. Then when that first show was finished it was to the pub, the Sea Horse, which was well needed!!!

Wednesday I was given the day off by Mia, which was probably a good thing because I was shattered, well and truly out off it! But it didn't stop me from doing what I needed to do, IE cooking the prop food! And getting there on time! I think by this point I has been to the Pret around 10 times, hehe. Now I was happy enough with the Follow spot job I had been given, but just to throw me Steve decided to give me some extra stress in the form of and Iris for the Follow Spot which means that you can make the beam smaller and more theatrical. So not only had he thrown me by this I had to do a head and shoulders follow, I was really rather scared. But I powered on threw and had fun. To give credit where credits due the Iris wasn't all that hard and it did look really good. After that it was to the pub this time Centre Page.

Thursday well this was a silly day, I managed to get myself sent to hospital only to the minor injuries unit for  a burn but still hospital. What happened was that when getting the prop food out of the oven I caught the trey on the edge of the work top it bounced back and on to my arm! But due to the extensive training I have had with the wonderful St Johns it was not as bad as it could have been. I still managed to Iron Mia's outfit for the evening with my injury. So at 5.30-ish I met Mia and we went to St Barts minor injury unit and I was treated! And at 6.30-ish I was ready to do Follow Spot in the Theater! I had an observer on this night Hannah, she was learning off of me for when she had to do it by herself on Saturday evening. It went well she watched and then asked me a few questions, all in all a good show! Then it was to the India, The Red Leaf, sat with Franey and Andy Mac, whom are amazingly lovely! Had really good conversations and laughed allot!

Friday Gala Night! Did quiet allot of Ironing during the day, and of course cooked the prop food, used my first ever Boris Bike, they are really heavy! Got to the theater to observe Hannah and help/ prompt her. She was really good and really scared, Good Show! That evening after the show we all got dressed up and went to the Sea Horse for the Gala element. Had such a laugh with everyone, and have so much respect for them. It was a late one that evening, I'm not going to lie.

Saturday, Last day :( Got up and ensured that I was packed, then went to the shops to get lunch for Mia and myself, while we where waiting for Mum and Dad, then this is where it all strange, Dad was making a cufufel, which caused me to stop thinking about my things and concentrate on getting him out of the flat, which en turn caused me to forget that my wedding outfit for the next week was in Mia's wardrobe, and thus leaving it there, grrr. Anyway I didnt know that at the time. So we went to the theater and checked in, then ate lunch by the river, and at which time Peter turned up. Then it was time for the last show, for me anyway, when I went up on to the grid Steve had put a box of chocolates within my glove to say thank you, it was really unexpected. It went really well, well it went well for me! During the hand over to Hannah, Andy Mac called me into the dressing room and when I walked in the room the cast clapped me and gave me a card and Jellybelly's, it was so lovely and unexpected and it really moved me! Then it was to Cafe Rouge with Mia, Steve and Craig as well as the rentals, there was enought time for a coffee then it was to Shukers Home where I was dropped off, Mum and Dad stayed for Dinner.

Then it is now, off to Norfolk for a week then back here for a wedding!

Quiet a long Paws! But Paws for thought over

STRESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am finally back in the magical land of Keele and only has one Exam left till I have finished!! YAY! And that got me thinking about stress and why we do it.
Why do we do it to ourselves?
We all get overly stressed about things, and I've decided to give myself a relaxation strategy:
YouTube
YouTube is the answer to Stress! That is all!
Paws for thought over!

Tuesday 4 January 2011

'Death' becomes us

Okay so I was watching Silent Witness last night, and it got me thinking.

Why are there so many different people out there?

Okay so different isn't always bad, but why do people not like different? What is it that scares people about different it just doesn't make sense to me. I am not exactly 'normal' but I am not that scary (well I hope not). Why do people run away it there comfort zones?

I guess that there is nothing 'normal' about any of us. But people try so hard to fit into there idea of what is 'right' and 'normal'. Girls have got to be skinny, mini, Blondy, booby, girly girls, of which I am none. And guys have got to be these knights in shinning armor, sports loving, defenders, who have a caring side. Why do we have these preconception?

Anyway little rant over.

Weird thing about this holiday is I can't seem to get to sleep at a normal time at all and more annoyingly I'm waking up really late. But that can have it's up side, this morning for example if I had have gotten up early I would have missed seeing the Big Black Fluffy Pillow that is TomTom.

One last thing I love Johnathon Creek.

Sunday 2 January 2011

Growing OLD is not an option but Growing UP is!!!

So it is 2011 and I am now 20 and this does scare me a little. I remember running around in a Princess Jasmin dress up out-fit and never wanting to take it of. And now I am in my second year at Keele Uni, reading Geology and Applied Environmental Science.

How did this happen???

How did I get from a little girl to a uni student???

And not only a uni student a uni student who is Co-President of the late service and Publicity for the Revelation Rock Gospel Choir.
I love it at Keele. I have made so many friends up there, and I couldn't imagine a life without them now. And lets not forget if I hadn't gone to Keele, I would never have met Peter, who is now a part of my heart as well as my life!

Well saying all of that, I am still a child at heart. I love Disney still as much now as I did when I was younger (maybe more?), I hopefully have never lost my sense of fun & well a good old giggle can't beet it!

That's all for now, Hope you enjoyed my 'Paws' for thought.
